Case Study
NB Power
In 2018, NB Power was designated the new administrator of New Brunswick’s energy efficiency programs. While the utility had offered programs in the past, it needed to expand its portfolio to offer new options to participants, streamline its program processes and offer training opportunities to staff.
EfficiencyOne Services’ first project for NB Power was to develop a new tool that would reduce the data entry time required from program delivery agents. The delivery agents were spending an average of an hour entering each file, and with thousands of files each year, the excess time was proving challenging. EfficiencyOne Services was able to automate much of the process, reducing the data entry time by almost 40% while also calculating energy savings in a way that meets the organization’s needs.
NB Power also engaged EfficiencyOne Services to design a Commercial New Construction program to encourage builders and businesses to incorporate energy efficiency into their new buildings. EfficiencyOne Services worked with the client to understand their needs and develop a program that will meet the needs of the market and the regulator. Having completed the design, EfficiencyOne Services is also providing training to NB Power’s program staff and continues to support them in this capacity.
